This gouache painting features a beautiful barn owl within an early autumn woodland, surrounded with plants such as bramble, elder and oak, all set against a beautiful rich dark background.
Barns owls are such distinctive birds and well-loved characters of the countryside and traditional farmland. They nest in barns and old buildings, as well as the odd hollowed out tree. Here I've looked to capture this beautiful bird in early autumn, on the edge of a night time woodland.
